Fiction texts such as poetry, novels, short stories are literary works. Since literary works are the product of emotion and thought, literary translations are the result of a different process than regular document translations. As literary works reflect the characteristics of the author’s culture, social norms, and language structure, words cannot be translated verbatim in literary translations. The meaning of the sentence, emotion, and thought must be translated. Each work’s own language contains different meanings.
